Thank ya

Sounds good

Sounds pretty good. Nice and smooth with a Nintendo styled drum beat lol

Los-Illuminados responds:

ooo didnt see that comming! and NOW i notice XD guess thats what happens for playing a lot of nintendo anyway ^.^ thx for the review!

Hmm

I understand you're trying to learn and that's cool and I respect you for that. The instruments you used were a little on the "annoying" side. The sound they make is just generally annoying and it's not so much your fault as it is the isntruments being annoying. I would try using different sounds that sound maybe a bit more natural to start off with before moving onto the more synthesized sounds.

Maybe, there's Dummies books on how to make music...although making music is an art and none of it is actually bad in the real world. To person to person it may be good or bad. I could bring you the best rap song in the world but if you're only into country you'd give it a zero etc etc so you can't rely on people to decide how good it is, right?

So the only things I can give you is...try to enjoy the things you make weather people like it or not...weird and maybe hard but I'd try to. Second...I would try using a different program to make music that might give you more of a variety of regular sounding sounds closer to the originals. You'll get better. Just keep submitting songs and in your author comment ask people specifically to tell you what they LIKED and also what they DISLIKED to get them pointed in the right direction in their reviews. Anyway, best of luck

HeliosStar responds:

I was wondering how much crap I'd have to post until someone finally gives me some help. thanks for the thoughtful review. I'll definitely take you up on your advice. to be hoenst I can do better than this, (if you listen to my other submissions) I just wanted some advice is all.

Cookie Monster goes Metal

Title says it all --- and more! There isn't much actual vocals in the song and there isn't a whole lot of music either. It's all xtremely hard to hear. From what music in the back I hear it doesn't sound too shabby.

Toward the end of the song it almost sounds like you adopted a hip-hop beat for a few seconds there. Anyway, peace.

Sounded good

You had snagged something when you made this song. It's way too bad it's just a loop and not a full blown song. Also sad how it won't be made into a song as well. Owell. The loop itself sounds pretty good and feels like you could have taken it much farther. Due to it being so small I really can't give it a maximum score. This song would probably be, from the sound of it, a 9 if you made it at least a minute long or more. Anyway, nice job. Peace.

RB6ELITE responds:

well, theres always the chance i might.

the problem is, ive started several projects that i think have potential, and not only do i not know which one to work on first, but I really cant think of any structural ideas outside of the loop. (this one, for instance).

we'll see

pl0x

Little too simple buddy is probably a better summary for this tune than pl0x...but I really like that word :/

I think you had a really nice intro...I do. Although, it dragged on longer than it probably should have and didn't really go anywhere when it ended. You could probably play this song in a movie with a guy in an asylum wearing a white jacket with straps as it slowly zooms in on him. Really.

Other than that I think you could have put a bit more effort into this one.

Nynety-Nyne responds:

Meh probably, but I was trying to make a short track, so our more impatient people of NG can listen.
It is also a little more detailed than you think, fair few pads and an extra guitar too, but for that you have to listen seriously close.
Ta for ya review luvvie.

House, huh

I'm not exactly sure what House music is but irrelevant!

Is the guy in the vocals saying..."Holy shit...fuck me back!" Or is that my perverted mind at work portraying everything as a sexual undertone??

Best thing about the song I could tell you is that it needs a bit more substance. The drum beat is pretty good but it does take up most listening content along side my little friend that wants to be fucked back lol.

Could use a bit more work , buddy. Welcome back to Newgrounds btw ;D

Nynety-Nyne responds:

Lol, I sampled the voice from some old lady playing video games who is prone to getting pissed off. She actually says, Holy Shit, the fuck was that? But I like yours too :D

Yeah, I think I didn't compress it too well, the sounds are much quiter than the one I heard in my sequencer.
Again its one of these short projects I do, so I don't run out of ideas, but I may take you up on that and carry on working on it.

Thanks for the welcome, I was beginning to think people didn't realise. :)

Makes me wonder

Yeah. It's a very ambient styled song for sure. I'm generally pretty nice with Ambient on Newgrounds because some times I just like to chill out in a world filled with Seizure inducing Tricky The Clown spinning and rotating penis flashes more than the mind can handle. lol.

The focal point of the song for me is the wave that comes in and out through out the song. In the background eventually comes in some of the beat and other melody. You've got an interesting sound here. I kinda like it but I'm not sure if I quote "Should". Although....I do. It really reminds me of something...

Well...I truly can't remember or bring out what this is making me feel but it sounds pretty good. I'll give you a 9 and a five to help you on your way. Peace.

DomesticTerrorist responds:

Thanks for a great review! Cheers!

Errr

Audio is way too scratchy man. It hurts to listen to it. I'm not sure if you're trying to convey something symbolically by having scratchy audio...but the only thing people really take from it is that it hurts our ears. As we're sitting here thinking how we're gonna vote and our ears are in pain...it's kind of hard to look at the song objectively. Just a tip.

The shrieky audio really affected the quality of the song for me..and is the main reason why I voted low. You know what's funny though...the actual music in the background is actually really good. I liked it especially when the guitars came in and rocked out....but of course I would have to ignore the audio to enjoy which I shouldn't have to do. But the music in the back was exceptional. I'm guessing the audio was on purpose to be like that so it is what it is. I'm giving you a 5. Too bad it's out of 10.

edmandspunk responds:

i don't fuckin know man hahahaha

Loved it

A very relaxing song. Jazz isn't touched enough in the Audio Portal. I'm glad you made a nice smooth jazz song. It almost feels like there's a hip-hop beat to it though..? Still sounds great though so no worries. Hmmm....I could probably listen to this all day. It's the pinnacle of well made music.

Very nice work on this tune. One question for you though. What's the exact name of the wind instrument you used....it sounds like Alto Sax but my mind is blurred recently from the way stuff sounds :/

This piece deserves a perfect 10 on my scale. Keep up the great work.

uziwave responds:

thanks Oddler,
I prefered to use the Studio Sax Section.
you can say Alto Sax but with some extra Fx.
