Fell in Love INSTANTLY

lol snayk...

A lot of your stuff is on the Front Page today isn't it? Shame on you. Bad boy. Taking up all the room and making all the other artists feel bad about themselves, hehe.

One of my favorite (maybe favorite of all time genres on Newgrounds) is Ambient and this has to be my favorite of what I've seen from you today. The bell-sounding chimes are so crystal clear. Makes me think of going into a Cave filled with sparkly crystal thingies and seeing all the colors hidden by the drab brown exterior shell of the cave to see this.

Call me ignorant on who Kraftwerk is....but isn't this also a Coldplay song...? Speed of Sound was it? I use to be real into Coldplay with their last two Albums. It simmered down a bit but I still like them and have respect for them regardless of what anyone else thinks.

I love the sound you have here. You heavily into Ambient songs or is it just this weeks selection? I may check out some of your other stuff but I'll wait for the response.

snayk responds:

I'm glad you liked it so much! Yeah, eight of my songs made the Top 30 this week :D

As I said earlier (and I think I'll edit into the author's comments), Coldplay used the melody in their 2005 song "Talk," but Kraftwerk released "Computer Love" in 1981. This is a cover of the Kraftwerk song.

I do enjoy making ambient music, and I've got quite a few ambient tracks here. If you're into checking them out and skipping my other songs, just go onto my userpage and click the audio link. You'll see all of my songs and their respective genres.

Thanks for the review(s)!

Not bad...felt a bit repetitive. Although, you already stated that in your Author comments. Normally, I like progressive things but it was hard to get as deeply into this as the other reviewers.

The closer you get to the end of the song the better and more alive everything starts to get. It felt like a flower slowly blossoming. Sound gay? Kinda. Owell :P The sound really came alive in it's later stages.

Overall I feel you did a pretty good job although I did have to knock a few points off my personal taste scale for the dragging feeling. Overall though Pretty good. Peace and love.

Reasoner responds:

Thanks for the review. I agree that this track has a lot more promise. I may rework it later if I can come up with some fresh ideas.

Pretty good

This submission is only twenty-five seconds long. So...naturally it's harder to really get a good feel of what you were working with in here as it starts to loop pretty quickly.

I'm on the fence if this would make good menu music or not. I do think some of the sounds could work with Menu music and some not so much.

I'm crazy impressed with how this submission amassed 40 (as of this date) Flash entries it was submitted in. I guess the people disagree with what I say above, no? haha

It's a pretty decent loop. Nice work.

Hrmm

There is this deep dark sound with a very rich and dark ambiance to it. Although, the intro was a bit too long for me and get played out a bit fast. As you go in further into the song it feels like you really delve deeper...maybe into the mind or some thing like that.

Again, haven't listened to much Nine inch nails so I wish I could have a better understanding of where you're coming from of this remix. I think it sounds pretty good especially the farther in you go. Nice work.

Asta Machowchow

What's your little brother saying? It sounded like he was saying Asta Machow chow, lulz.

I loved when the songer got a little heavier mixed with the ambient sounds in the back ground. I only wish to know what it was that your little brother was saying.

We are the Knights who say Ni. Ni. Ni. Sounded like a bit of that too <_< lulz

Nice tune over all though. Nice work.

Okydoky

Interesting piece here.

You know what though........for once in the Newgrounds Audio portal.....this is truly Ambient. You pushed this piece into the respective category. Or maybe you made a piece that truly 100% fits into the respect category.

I like it. The mood is painted really smoothly. There is a clarity in the sound as well. It feels like a creamy spread of sounds woven together into a very precise and clear web. Very nice job, Mr. Moderator. I have a gold aura as well.

All Ambience

Around 30 seconds in I grew impatient for the main theme (whatever it was going to be) to kick in and I ended up turning up the volume to full blast to hear.

Turned out that the entire song is mood creating through subtle under tones at the back of the song. Didn't feel like anything was in the foreground but a blend of sounds all together in one.

I give you points for doing something Original I really do :) I'm not sure personally, if I should rate it this but I really have to say...I do admire your uniqueness you display in making this and standing out from 500 other songs I've heard in the portal. Nice work overall.

Life now makes sense

I didn't like the intro very much and thought....errr... It's a very weird thing you know...The bells and chimes at the beginning of the song felt out of place when the song started and as soon as the guitars kicked in...everything made sense.

Perception is fleeting and often weird and maybe that last thing I said and thought was an illusion? But this song definitely got kicked into high-gear and everything made sense after.

I wasn't too sure about the almost aquatic sound effects toward the beginning of the end but overall the song is pretty nice. Love the guitars and everything else. Almost perfect. Nice work.

sorohanro responds:

actually, when i made this i was playng "Shadowman" (old game, but one of the spookyest), so , i guess i got inspired for the intro from there ...
i think i have long intros generally speaking, i guess i have to get in the mood for making music ...
thanx for review

Opa

My mind usually goes to Forests when I'm asleep. I also have a weird fascination with flying and definitely moving things with the power of my mind. Yes.

I don't think this piece made me feel like I was asleep or in that special little place while I'm asleep. Generally speaking too.

It's kind of cliche to make songs about sleeping and dreams and everything inbetween ambient with lots of bell chimes lol...but it may have been a bit more fitting. It's your song though so you're ultimately the master of it's reality.

snayk responds:

Yeah, it's cliché to make ambient songs about sleep and dreaming and everything in between, but can't the same be said for a pop ballad about love or a goth song about sadness?

A song can be good whether its subject matter in relation to its genre is used or not, and you shouldn't restrict your thinking because of it.

You didn't really tell me anything about my song. You didn't even say whether you liked it or not, just that it didn't make you sleepy.

Cool Song

Nice little song you have here. And yes, congrats on Front Page~! Woo!

The intro however didn't do too much for me. The song however slowly started evolving bit by bit into a blend of natural sounding music and some synthetic stuff. Nice interesting blend you got going there. One of the more interesting softer tunes I've heard in this place in a while. Nice job!

Reasoner responds:

It does start out a bit open, with a lot of dead air. I'm working on trying to tighten things up with my future tracks. Thanks for the review
